My family has numerous strollers. We have jogging strollers, both single and double, strollers that double as a bicycle carrier, two of them actually, strollers for the mall, double strollers for everyday and even a couple of lightweight strollers. The problem is I'm a bit of a stroller junkie and that contributes to the problem. The other factor is that we have three kids close together.

None of them were really planned very well and that has resulted in going from a single stroller to a double stroller in the span of a few short (choosing lightweight strollers ) months. Since we tend to be active people, that also meant we went from a single jogging stroller to a double jogging stroller in the same timeframe. I also don't really like trying to haul a heavy jogging stroller or bike trailer to the mall or grocery store each time I want to go out.

What I mean by that is for whatever reason they tend to get destroyed, lost even stolen from time to time. They have also been left at Grandma's house, which is several hundred miles away.

So it's probably clear by now that we have a lot of experience with a lot of strollers. This also means that I have managed to mold that experience into a somewhat formulaic manner of selecting the best strollers. After all, if a stroller can survive with my family, odds are it's a good stroller.

So for example, if you are purchasing a lightweight stroller one of the key things you have to be aware of are the folding points on the stroller. They must all be hidden or capped. The reason is simple, little fingers find their way into everything at the most inopportune times. Not too long ago there was a stroller recall on lightweights for just that reason.

Secondly, despite the fact that they are light, you still want to find one with bigger wheels. Big wheels make pushing your stroller and your little one easier. They make the ride smoother and bigger wheels make it easier to bump over curbs sidewalks. We all know he typical urban terrain is not always as smooth as can be.

Lightweight strollers make life much easier with a little one. If you follow a few simple guidelines you will get what you need without a lot of outlay of cash.
